Surgical Team

We are actively seeking a general practitioner or other licensed medical professional to serve in the Central Highlands of Guatemala.  This is a beautiful and rugged mountainous area with a mild climate that is centered in the heart of Mayan culture and Spanish influence in the Province of Quiché.
 
Our mission activities include conducting clinics in rural areas, working in tandem with local hospitals, pastors and other missionary and medical professionals.  We also host surgical and other missionary teams, as well as provide valuable experience and training for visiting medical students from the United States.  Agape in Action owns a comfortable dormitory facility located in Santa Cruz del Quiché, which serves as the residence for Dr. Heidi and Matt Bell and is located on the grounds of the Santa Elena National Hospital.
 
Dr. Heidi and Matt Bell serve as Agape in Action medical missionaries; however, their commitment is ending the summer of 2008.  We are seeking a qualified medical professional to continue this important ministry.  Dr. Bell is an OB-GYN with a specialty in Surgical Procedures.  You can read more about their activities online at:  www.agapeenaccion.blogspot.com

Colegio Torre Fuerte

(Tower of Strength School)         

The school is currently under construction, and with all of your help and support,  the flooring tile has been completed, and the structure is built for the  bathrooms.  The photos below show the installation of the doors and windows.  

Construction in this area is difficult because the structure has to be earthquake-hardened and is labor intensive.  We are on schedule for the first classes to be held in January 2009.  We share in the vision of Pastor Arnold Gonzales of this school being put in place to give the children of his town and surrounding areas a quality Christian education.  These children are full of love and joy.
